Children Dentistry FAQs
If your question is not here, call us on +91 98402 03173 and we will answer it.
When should my child first see a dentist?
Current guidance is a first visit by the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits are short and mostly about building familiarity, not treatment.
Do baby teeth really matter if they fall out anyway?
Yes. Baby teeth hold space for the permanent teeth coming through behind them, and untreated decay can cause pain, infection and affect the developing tooth underneath.
My child is frightened of the dentist. What can you do?
We work at your child’s pace and explain everything before we do it. For children who need more support, laughing-gas sedation is available and we can spread treatment across visits.
Will my child need X-rays?
Only when there is a clinical reason to take one — for example to check between contacting teeth or to see a developing tooth. Our digital X-rays use a low radiation dose.
How often should we come back?
Many children are seen every six months, but we will suggest an interval based on your child’s own decay risk, diet and brushing.
Can I stay with my child during treatment?
Yes. Parents and carers are welcome to stay, and for younger children it usually helps.
